May 26th, 2007 Storm Chase

Today was a last-minute saturday afternoon chase in my backyard. Without a lot of forecast, a severe thunderstorm watch was issued for most of eastern Colorado. Since I had nothing else to do, I jumped in the car with Linnea and we headed out. Within an hour we were on this storm with some great circulation on the back of it. It seemed relatively high based, so I suspected landspout tornadoes if anything. The closest I saw was this interesting "funnel" shape coming out of the cloud base.
